About WMCMHS

West Michigan Community Mental Health System is the public behavioral health provider for people with mental illness, developmental disability, and substance use disorders in Lake, Mason, and Oceana counties. Our organization provides services under a contract with the State of Michigan’s Department of Community Health (DCH) to residents of our service area who have Medicaid or are uninsured and who are eligible for services as defined by the Michigan Mental Health Code.

We are a Community Mental Health Service Provider (CMHSP) affiliated with the Northwest Community Mental Health Affiliation, one of 18 Prepaid Inpatient Health Plans (PIHP) in Michigan.

Each year we provide behavioral health services to more than 2300 individuals and have more than 71,000 contacts with those with whom we partner in their recovery journeys.
